Halacha of the Week - The earliest that Kiddush Levana can be recited is three full days after the molad (the "rebirth " of the moon). If the 3rd day is a weekday it is best to wait until Motzei Shabbos when we are in our Shabbos clothing to recite Kiddush Levana. (Others have the custom to wait seven full days before reciting Kiddush Levana).

If it is already the tenth of the month and one has not yet recited Kiddush Levana, he should do so on the first available night without waiting for Motzei Shabbos. The reason being, this late in the month we are concerned that one may end up .missing Kiddush Levana entirely, since it cannot be recited after 15 days following the molad. (Shulchan Aruch Or”Ch 226:4, Mishna Berurah 20)
