New Community Gemach Directory - What is a Gemach? A gemach literally means, loving kindness and it has come to mean a “free loan society” of money or things that people occasionally need. Gemachs loan out items (i.e. vases, car seats, tablecloths, wedding gowns etc.) for people to use. Its goal is people helping people.
I am organizing this New Gemach Directory in memory of my mother, Faye Porter Arenzon, who recently died at the age of 100. My Mother was an incredibly kind and giving person.
Call me @ 952-927-9670 or email me Morahbsmith@aol.com with any questions, suggestions or to include your gemach in this community directory.
This community does a lot of chessed for others and this is another way we can help each other. Thank you for helping with this project. In the zechus of helping others, may your own needs be met.

From the CRC - The confectioner’s sugar sold by Wal-Mart under their Great Value brand is mistakenly labeled as being kosher for Passover. The product, although certified kosher for year-round use by United Mehadrin, is NOT certified for Passover use.

On Shabbos due to the prohibition of Gozaiz-shearing, one is prohibited from cutting or tearing any hair, skin or nail from his body. Removing a wart is also prohibited. This prohibition applies whether one uses a utensil (scissors, clippers, etc.) or his hands or teeth.
Therefore care must be taken not to accidentally remove a bothersome fingernail or hangnail on Shabbos. Those who have the habit of biting their nails or their fingers must be extra vigilant so as to not transgress this prohibition unintentionally out of habit. (Shulchan Aruch Or”Ch 340:1) Note: One, who is pain due to any of the above circumstances, should consult a Rav for guidance.
