Succoth is the Festival of Booths, which occurs on the 15th of Tishrei. It is an 8 day festival culminating in the Shemini Atzeres and Simchat Torah . On Succoth, we wave the lulav and esrog, eat in the sukkah under the stars and read the book of Kohelet in services. Our sages say that when you repent out of fear, the sin is erased, but when you repent out of love the sin is turned into a virtue. G-d crosses out "ate shrimp" and writes down "ate matza on Pesach" for example. Succoth is the time to repent out of love of G-d and is a very joyous holiday.
