The Minneapolis/St. Paul Jewish community is medium sized, but very
active. In December, 2001, Jewish federations from across the country sent representatives on a solidarity mission to
Israel. Of the 500 representatives from across the United
States, 125 were from the Twin Cities.
Many Jews came to Minnesota in the pioneer days. There is a significant
number of congregations to reflect that
history. Two Orthodox shuls prosper in St. Louis Park,
a suburb of Minneapolis. St. Paul has a Orthodox community that is more heavily Chasidic.
There are Jewish Community Centers in both St.
Louis Park and St. Paul.
The Federation offices of both Minneapolis and St. Paul maintain the www.JewishMinnesota.org site.
